Virtual desktops have been around for years, but the arrival of practical, affordable AI has changed what they can do. If your business runs its computing in the cloud, or you are thinking about it, the way AI now sits inside these systems affects everything from security to daily admin.

A virtual desktop is a full computer environment, your files, applications and settings, that lives on a server in a data centre rather than on the machine in front of you.
